Pre-Kindergarten

Christ Lutheran maintains a Christian Pre-Kindergarten for ages three to six years. Our Pre-K program is not limited to members of the parish family. Five different sessions are offered: a five-day afternoon, a three-day morning, a three-day afternoon, a two-day morning, and a two-day afternoon.

Of all his needs, the greatest is the young child’s need to know of God’s love for him. Christ Lutheran Pre-K’s primary concern is with the spiritual development of the child. Our Lord says, “I have come in order that you might have life”. A child’s spiritual development inter-relates with his physical, mental, social, and emotional development. This is why our Pre-K curriculum has the child’s spiritual welfare as its center with a total program, including all aspects of his development, built around it. Our goal is to assist you in helping your child experience God’s love and in learning to use his God-given talents to the fullest.

The curriculum is designed to cover the needs of the child in their spiritual, physical, and mental growth and development, including language, phonics, numeral concepts of shapes and designs.

Along with these, the child is introduced to many varied activities to develop the sensual motor skills. Fine motor skills are developed by the use of beads, puzzles, and pencil and crayon activities. Gross motor skills are promoted by the use of playground equipment, crawling cubes and balance beams. Music, art, science, and social studies are inter-related and mingled with the other activities.

Field trips are designed to expose the children to a wild world of information and aesthetic experiences found outside the classroom.
